The Air Code of the Russian Federation obligatorily requires aircraft owners (individuals and legal entities), as well as air carriers, to insure:

  • Liability to 3 persons (Article 131 of Federal Law No. 60). When performing transportation within the Russian Federation, the minimum amount of insurance coverage is equal to 2 minimum wage on the date of signing the contract of carriage for each kilogram of the maximum take-off weight of an aircraft In international transportation, the liability limit is established by the law of the country of arrival.
  • The life and health of the crew members (Article 132 of Federal Law No. 60). The minimum amount of insurance is from 1 million rubles per person.
  • Civil liability to passengers (Article 133 of Federal Law No. 60) in accordance with Federal Law No. 67 dated 06/14/2012. The minimum amount of insurance for harm to life and health is 2,025 million rubles, property with a passenger is 23 thousand rubles.
  • Responsibility to the owner or sender of the cargo (Article 134 of Federal Law No. 60). The minimum insurance amount is 2 million rubles for each kilogram of cargo.
  • Responsibility of the operator during aviation operations (Article 135 of Federal Law No. 60).
WHAT IS COVERED

The insurance covers the liability of the owner and/or operator of the aircraft to third parties for damage caused to life, health or property as a result of an aviation accident.

WHO IS THE POLICYHOLDER

The policyholder is the owner and/or operator of the aircraft, who is responsible for the safety and operation of the aircraft.

The insurance covers the risks associated with harm to the life, health or property of third parties during the operation of the aircraft. This can include various situations, including accidents, catastrophes, collisions and other unforeseen circumstances. Remember that civil liability insurance for aircraft owners is not only a mandatory requirement of the law, but also an important element of protecting your interests and the interests of people around you.
